Workplace Capability Assessments

We have several different levels of capability assessments available depending on the severity of the problem and length of absence. However all capability assessments are based on a 'Plan of Action' and include:

  • A dedicated and accessible case manager throughout the process
  • A detailed clinical history with advice as to appropriate treatment
  • A detailed breakdown of the job role with recommendations designed to overcome any issues
  • Answers to any specific questions posed by the referring manager
  • Commentary on capability, the equality act and any other relevant considerations
  • A detailed report , setting out steps to be taken, by whom, any associated cost and time-frames
  • A graded plan, setting out how a sustainable return to work can be implemented if appropriate

FACE TO FACE - PLAN OF ACTION

  • A detailed look at the clinical situation of the employee
  • Gives specific clinical advice regarding the psychological, cognitive and physical demands of the individual’s job role.
  • HR and line manager will be invited to have input into the assessment phase to ensure that all concerns are covered
  • If possible, observation of the role being carried out is also undertaken
  • The case manager contacts the employer to provide initial feedback
  • Comprehensive report will be provided within 5 working days

VIRTUAL PLAN OF ACTION

  • Address the needs of an employee who has been absent from work for only a short period.
  • The assessment will be carried out via telephone or video link
  • Identifies the barriers to work and offers immediate advice on return to work with likely time frames, support and adjustments.
  • If appropriate, an AHP Fit-Note can be provided (which is recognised by the Department for Work and Pensions)
  • If appropriate, a detailed referral to our network of treatment providers or one of your choice

ERGONOMIC ASSESSMENTS

  • As it says on the tin
  • Thorough ergonomic workstation set up assessment and advice 
  • Detailed report outlining advice to employee and employer and associated costs
  • For new starters or current employees suffering from work related injury associated with their immediate environment
  • Prevention is better than cure

 

FACE TO FACE COMPLEX -  PLAN OF ACTION

  • For employees that have multiple or complex illnesses, disabilities or conditions that are recurring and remitting and require an even more in depth assessment
  • A detailed look at the clinical situation of the employee
  • Gives specific clinical advice regarding the psychological, cognitive and physical demands of the individual’s job role.
  • HR and line manager will be invited to have input into the assessment phase to ensure that all concerns are covered
  • If possible, observation of the role being carried out is also undertaken
  • The case manager contacts the employer to provide initial feedback
  • Comprehensive report will be provided within 7 working days
